A long traditional in the nursery business
Evolved from our Cheadle Hulme Nursery established over 75 years, Lomax Hanging Baskets continues the Lomax tradition utilising its growing and planting experience to produce stunning hanging baskets and tubs for homes and businesses.
The original nursery closed a few years ago, however the Lomax brand continues to supply Manchester, Stockport and Cheshire. We continue to grow all of our own plants at our Cheshire growing site, ensuring that 'Lomax' quality, just as we did when the main garden centre was still open. We have retained many of our existing customers from Lomax Nurseries, however we continue to grow right across the North West.
As well as supplying hanging baskets, patio tubs and troughs, we also offer baskets for businesses, on-site planting and fit watering systems for homes, offices and public houses.
About me
Born into Lomax Nurseries and as the 3rd generation of Lomax my hands were in compost after my first steps. As I grew so did my interest and knowledge of plants. I helped with the pricking out of seedlings into wooden trays which my Nanna had made (she was a dab hand with a hammer) nurturing them and seeing them flourish with wonderful results. At 13 and after seeing my mum making up moss baskets, I had a go.
Years on and tens of thousands of baskets later, just as when I was a toddler you will still normally find me with my hands in compost. The availability of more plant varieties has given greater depth of colour and texture to baskets, but the planting process is much the same. We still grow our own basket plants giving us a greater choice of variety, the ability to grow quality plants and ultimately produce a lovely full hanging basket.
I am a passionate gardener and plantswoman and have been for as long as I can remember. Right from starting working at our Cheadle Hulme site, through to the current day, I have always believed that we should work with our customers to create a friendly and enjoyable experience for them. I see myself as a very creative person and I'm always looking for new ideas and challenges for the business.
With over 1000 moss baskets of various sizes made up during last summers season and over 1500 throughout the year plus the increasingly popular wicker baskets and cones we certainly are the hanging basket specialists.
