Evolved from our Cheadle Hulme Nursery established over 75 years ago Lomax Hanging Baskets continues the Lomax tradition utilising its growing and planting experience to produce stunning hanging baskets and tubs for homes and businesses.
About me
Born into Lomax Nurseries and as the 3rd generation of Lomax my hands were in compost after my first steps. As I grew so did my interest and knowledge of plants. I helped with the pricking out of seedlings into wooden trays which my Nanna had made (she was a dab hand with a hammer) nurturing them and seeing them flourish with wonderful results. At 13 and after seeing my mum making up moss baskets, I had a go.
Years on and tens of thousands of baskets later, just as when I was a toddler you will still normally find me with my hands in compost. The availability of more plant varieties has given greater depth of colour and texture to baskets, but the planting process is much the same. We still grow our own basket plants giving us a greater choice of variety, the ability to grow quality plants and ultimately produce a lovely full hanging basket.
With over 700 moss baskets of various sizes made up during last summers season and over 1000 throughout the year plus the increasingly popular wicker baskets and cones we certainly are the hanging basket specialists. Kate
